2021 Award Recipient – Dr. Weihua Zhuang

Dr. Weihua Zhuang (莊衛華)  (Electrical and Computer Engineering)

Dr. Weihua Zhuang, Professor at the University of Waterloo, is internationally recognized for her telecommunication research having developed  number of novel algorithms and protocols for resource allocation, network control and service provisioning in mobile ad hoc networks, vehicular communication networks and heterogeneous wireless networks.  In particular, Dr. Zhuang’s research has contributed immensely in the area of cooperative communications.

Dr. Zhuang is a Tier I Canada Research Chair, is one of only three University of Waterloo professors in the Faculty of Engineering, which has over 350 researchers and has received five Outstanding Performance Awards.  She is the recipient of 12 Best Paper Awards from premier international conferences.

Dr. Zhuang is also an exceptional educator and mentor, training accomplished engineers and scientists all over the world.
