Mission Statement

The Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals (Ontario) fosters the promotion, cooperation, and growth among Chinese Canadian Professionals from various disciplines; improves the quality of the community through the organization and active participation in non-profit social and educational initiatives; and unites professionals to serve as a voice for the Chinese Canadian community.

 

Objectives

One of the main functions of the FCCP is to encourage interdisciplinary studies among the various professions. However, this is not the sole mandate of the FCCP.  The FCCP is also actively involved in the following:

  • To promote equity and access for Chinese Canadian professionals;
  • To provide for and encourage interdisciplinary exchange among the professions;
  • To recognize and affirm Chinese heritage;
  • To serve as a voice on matters of concern to Chinese Canadians professionals;
  • To bring together and unite Chinese Canadians of diverse professional backgrounds; and
  • To promote the contributions of Chinese Canadian professionals to Canadian society.

 

Organization

The Federation of Chinese Canadian Professionals (Ontario), also referred to as the FCCP, is a non-profit organization chartered by the Ontario Government since 1975.  The FCCP is the umbrella organization for the following twelve professional groups:

  • Accountants
  • Architects
  • Biomedical
  • Chiropractors
  • Dentists
  • Educators
  • Engineers
  • Information Technology Professionals
  • Lawyers
  • Medical practitioners
  • Pharmacists
  • Physiotherapists

 

Community Involvement

The FCCP is committed to community involvement.  One branch of the FCCP is the Education Foundation, a charitable organization founded in 1983 which provides scholarships and awards to students in Ontario universities and post-secondary institutions.  The other branch of the FCCP is the Non-Profit Housing Corporation, formed in January 1991 to provide affordable housing to individuals and families of low and modest incomes.

We welcome all new members in hopes that you will be able to share your knowledge with us and the community at large.

 

Membership and Functions

By joining the FCCP, you become a member of a united organization well respected by all levels of government and valued by the community and the professionals.  There are various joint functions of all sections on an educational as well as recreational basis throughout the year.

The highlights of the FCCP functions include the Annual Conference, the Award of Merit, the Annual Chinese New Year Ball, and the Annual General Meeting.
